About Rick's Honda Regulator Rectifier
Why the Honda Regulator Rectifier is Important
The rectifier regulator is a key element in your Honda’s charging system. Many older vehicles, such as your Honda, relied on older field-excited charging circuits that utilized a separate rectifier and regulator. Rick’s Motorsport Electrics has developed a part that merges the two outdated components into a single solid-state device with modern technology..

OMC Johnson Evinrude Rectifier/Regulator 4/12A. OEM Part Number(s): 5001. Item Condition: New, old stock inventory item. NOS means there may be signs of age from shelf life. All NOS are sold in uninstalled, working condition. Most parts have been removed from original packaging for picture details. (1) Replace the rectifier/regulator with the new model from a PX200 electric start. The rectifier/regulator is located behind the battery tray under the left hand side cowl. Remove the spare tire, if fitted, by removing the two 13mm nuts at the top, and the single 14mm bolt which holds a plastic cover to the bottom portion of the spare tire. I know after researching that it has a bad rectifier/voltage regulator. Tach does not work, battery voltage 18+. Original part #804278T11 has been replaced with #804278A12 (almost 700 Canadian) which includes a wire harness. Is the wire necessary. As I am sure you know, this model used Yamaha parts including the regulator/rectifier.
Connecting the regulator - the 3 single wires with spade terminals are meant to be plugged in at the same location as the color coded wires going to the OE regulator.
Connecting the rectifier - Disconnect the 6-position, 5 wire connector from the OE rectifier & plug the identical connector on the 10-100 in its place.
Excerpted from a CB750/550 Wiring Diagram
The 10-100 regulator is connected to the harncss via the 3 single wires with spade terminals (these plug into the wires that originally were going to the tabs on the OE regulator). The color code remains the same. The 10-100 rectifier plugs into the harness at the same location as the OE rectifier.
